Okay, so, times are hard and I’m selling my house. Yeah, yeah, I’m not here to wail and moan or gnash my teeth or rent my garments asunder. I know there are people who are a lot worse off than I am. Although, Fun Fact: don’t tell anyone who’s been unemployed for a year that there are other people who have it worse. Bless your heart we know you’re trying to help, but. Well. That doesn’t help.
Moving on! (so to speak)
I am selling my house in the lovely, scenic Donelson part of Nashville. It’s near the airport but don’t freak out. When They built the airport, They came through the surrounding neighborhoods and double paned all the windows, insulated the attics, etc. I rarely ever hear anything outside. It’s just a nice, quiet, neighborhood. I have very friendly people next door. The house was built in 1955 and although I have done a crap ton of work to it, it still has the original pink tile in the bathroom. Which I have decided to use as a selling point because, really, what else can I do with that?
It’s 1333 square feet, 2 bedrooms and an office, front room, living room, renovated kitchen, all new plumbing and heating/air. Here, let me show you some pictures. You can go here and see all the magic on Flickr.
I’m asking $120K for it because that’s what I paid for it and the good lord knows I can’t afford to take a loss here. So there’s not a lot of room to negotiate. Okay, I’d take $119,900. There. See? I can be reasonable.
I put it on Craig’s List but unfortunately, real estate brokers have discovered The Innernets and every single day on CL there are about 150 listings from brokers so mine is completely buried. So it’s also on my Facebook page. Feel free to spread it around. Write the url on bathroom stalls. Do something that might get my house featured on the nightly news without hurting the resale value. I’m open here.
